Almost Christmas Break!!

I'm getting really excited about Christmas.  No, not for the presents or for the food...actually I am not really looking forward to celebrating any of the Christmas season.  I am looking forward more to Christmas break: the best time to spend with my family.

Yes, I love getting and giving gifts to my family, but doesn't the season of Christmas get almost monotonous?  Every year you do the same thing.  Of course, to little children I am sure that the Christmas season never gets boring.  My mother said just the other day that she thinks that Christmas should only be every two years. (in a joking manner, for sure)

And this year I feel as if Christmas has almost been all year long.  I don't mean that by saying that I have been singing the Christmas song or O Holy Night every since January ;).  I mean more to say that the Christmas season is an all year event...or it should be.  And isn't that what Christmas is all about?  Why should we only celebrate and dwell on Christ's birth and death and resurrection on December 25th, Good Friday, and Easter?  This year I plan to do everything as usual, only I feel that though I am not really getting into the Christmas spirit, the spirit that I would like to have and am trying to "get into" is the spirit of glorification.  I want to be able to look at my life this year, and after this New Year, and see that God was glorified; remembered, dwelled with, loved, honored, and I hope to see this all year round, not just at the times of Easter and Christmas.

And though I feel a little down this year, I hope we can all celebrate this Christmas with cheer and remembrance of the birth of our Lord.  How wonderful to call Him our God!  One who would come to earth to die for sinners and wretches so that they might glorify and serve Him for ever and ever!

So have a Holly Jolly Christmas...all through this year!

Absolutely. I feel most un-Christmas-y at the moment (more like chronically depressed!*)...but that doesn't mean I shouldn't remember Jesus Christ!

*Figure of speech. It's not that bad. ;)

Hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas...
